Happy to have you on FHM! Are there any exciting projects you’re hoping to take on before the end of the year? “Being the December cover girl love that you have put me on this issue as you are one of my favourite magazines to appear in.
How does it feel to see yourself featured in this issue, and what does this moment mean to you personally? Love the magazines diversity and that you showcase models worldwide to be back, but this time on the cover is nostalgic, as throughout the years, FHM has always supported and featured me, and I use to always see copies on the shelves and aspire to be in the magazine.
Who or what inspires your style, confidence, and creativity? For me, it’s random. I am drawn to very standout things, not necessarily bright colours or the most expensive items, but what complements me and my curves, in terms of celebrity Jlo because she is stylish and youthful, and every age and dominating in her career, which I aspire to be also.
If you had a free weekend with no responsibilities, how would you spend it? My Star sign is a Gemini. I am spontaneous, so I will make room for what appeals to me at any date or time if I’m drawn to events, people or a location.
Which upcoming project or ambition are you most excited about right now? Ambition is endless for me. I plan on persevering in front of the camera and behind it in Modelling / Wellness / and brand collabs.
What’s a fear you’re determined to overcome? Fear, in general, being fearless is powerful and not worrying, as the outcome always ends better when you go for what you desire.
What’s a passion outside of modelling that you hope to pursue more deeply? I was thinking of this recently. I love pearl jewellery too, so maybe I will have my own collection at some point I literally wear everyday of week chokers and pearls everyone always says Melissa, you need to launch pearls and everyone would love I even thought about the name “Pearlissa “love struck face.
What’s one major career milestone you’re aiming to achieve next? Persevere creatively.
What new experiences or adventures are you hoping to try in the new year? I’d love to go to space lol.
What advice would you give your younger self starting out in the industry? None, I’ve always been very hungry for success and got where I am on my own, so I would probably be like Damn, you inspire me to be younger and me now, haha.
As we step into a new year, what’s your biggest resolution for yourself? I don’t do resolutions per year when I think I need to elevate it happens that day or week or that hour.
What new experiences or adventures are you hoping to try in the new year? Gemini adventurous is are state of mind. I have travelled this year a lot, and it has been tiring and impactful for me.
What kind of mark do you want to leave on the modelling industry? Don’t be discouraged by no or giving up, you can and will get where you need to be if you keep trying.
What impact do you want your work and your voice to have on others? Iconic.
If you could build your dream legacy, what would it stand for? iconic meaning inspiring and beauty beneath the surface, in definitely not just a surface level person, I am intellectual, mentally as well as physically, smiley face.
